How does the bleach work?

The underlying substances are the same for most of those available on the market. Either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide is used. These substances release active oxygen in the mouth, which penetrates the tooth enamel and thus dissolves the pigments located there. The chemical reaction is similar to bleaching hair.

When used correctly, these bleaching agents do not harm a healthy oral cavity. In the case of open, injured or sensitive teeth, a dentist should still be consulted to clarify possible temporary side effects. Teeth bleaching is not recommended for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.
